A scrumptious treat everyone is sure to LOVE!

Okay so it’s that time again…time to apologize for not posting in like a million years. I can’t believe my last post was in November…NOVEMBER people! Apologies ladies and gents, hopefully this wont happen again.

Okay so enough babbling lets get to the good stuff shall we? I want to take you on my latest endeavor Valentines Day treats. I know what you’re going to say WHOA Valentines Day already came and went, must like this year has been going. What I am trying to say is that the treats I made don’t just have to be for Valentines Day they are perfect for just a regular weekday treat. So what is this delectable treat that will satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth…Cookies and Cream Rice Krispies Treats. I’ll give you a second to get off the floor, when I first saw these I feel right off my chair too!

So a little background, my boyfriend absolutely LOVES rice krispies treats and he has quite a fondness for cookies and cream things as well. So what better to do then combine the two?! To answer my own question, nothing….nothing could be better. So let me tell you how I did it!

Ingredients

6 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal

6 Cups mini marshmallows

30 crushed Oreos

3 Hershey Cookies N’ Cream candy bars

1 tsp vanilla extract

4 Tbsp butter

In a large mixing bowl combine Rice Krispies and Oreos, set aside.

Melt butter and 1 1/2 Hershey’s chocolate bars in a saucepan over low heat. (Important things to remember: Spray your whole pan with Pam first so when you add the Krispies and Oreos later they won’t stick to the saucepan. It is also wise to spray your spatula with Pam so they won’t stick to that either! ) Once melted add marshmallows and stir until they’re almost all melted and proceed to add the vanilla.

Now when fully melted, take them off the heat and pour in the Krispies and Oreo mixture. Stir to combine. In a greased 9x9 pan pour the mixture in, stand back and admire your awesomeness!

Don’t forget the other 1 1/2 extra Hershey bar! In a piping bag (or Ziploc bag) break up the bar and put it into the bag. Make sure its zipped or tied well so it doesn’t spill. Heat in the microwave for 30 second time intervals until you see it is all melted. Once out of the microwave cut end of bad slightly and use your best culinary diva (or culinary dude) skills to drizzle the Hershey bar on your krispies! Wait to cool for about 20 minutes and dig in yall!

And that is it! You did it now I challenge you guys out there (if anyone is even listening..wait reading) to come up with another Rice Krispies recipe!

Enjoy and Happy Baking Everyone!!

AHHH attention everyone! I apologize once again for taking so much time off since my last post! Forgive me! These past two months have been super crazy with school, all the birthdays and not to mention i did my first run ever! YEAH! Though I would love to tell you it was a half-marathon it sadly was not, it was the 5K COLOR RUN! And yes it was the coolest thing I have been a part of. Anyways back to the important stuff….baking!!

I have completed four cakes since my last post, not to mention ever time I visit my boyfriend at school I bring him and his roommates goodies :) So here is a little picture preview of what I’ve been doing for the past couple of months…No worries everyone I promise I will have recipes for all the goodies I show!

PS I was lucky enough to be asked to do a cake for a fundraiser event held for a little girl, Sydney who passed away from Leukemia. The event was the same day as my nephews birthday so to say the least it was a CRAZY day, but more about that later. I was unable to attend the event due to my nephews party so I’m still hoping that the cake was a hit:)

I WILL be posting a recipe or two tomorrow so look out for some yummy things coming your way!

So I am writing to you all on a very full and satisfied belly! For the past week my grandmother has been in town! Now something that you should know about my grandma is that she is very proud of her heritage! She, like my mother as well, is 100% Hungarian. So every time my grandma comes into town we cook and bake together like crazy!! We make mostly Hungarian recipes, which if you haven’t had Hungarian food then you’re missing out!
Anyways, we made my brothers favorite recipe today Hungarian apricot cakes, they’re actually not cakes at all but are mouth watering cookies but who cares! All that matters is that they’re delicious. The dough alone is so flakey and delicious and that mixed with the sweet/tart apricot is like a party in your mouth (is that saying overused or is it just me? Time to get a new one?

Here is a fun tip of the day! When baking peanut butter cookies, dip your fork (that you use to make the pattern on the cookies) in oil then sugar to give it a delicious sugar coating that everyone will love!

Thanks for the tip sister!

For my last post I showed you all the cake I did for my boyfriends birthday, which took a reallllllly long time to do! Well I also had to make another cake for his cousin because it was her birthday too. So her favorite thing is softball which I was  ecstatic to find out because I played softball pretty much my whole life so I wanted to make it special. I found out I was doing this cake two days before the party so I was in a huge time crunch so I did the best I could to whip out a sweet softball cake and this is what I came up with…

The softball, just like the headphones on the other cake, was made out of rice crispy treats. Let me tell you it took a lot of willpower not to dig into them! haha! So as for the softball field I used fondant but I also used these cookie sprinkle crumbles so it gave the allusion of dirt. Pretty cool right? I thought so! I also used my homemade butter cream and used it to create grass on the edges of the field and at the bottom of the cake.
So there you have it, I am happy to say that there was barley any of this cake & the Iphone/Beats cake left at the end of the party!

Wow its been a long time! So sorry! I wanted to share with you guys the lastest cake I did, it was for my boyfriends birthday. You see I’ve never made him a cake and I wanted to make this one super special soooo I took his two favorite things (his Iphone & his Beats by Dre) and made them into a cake! He kept insisting that I make him an ice cream cake but I kept telling him no (he wasn’t too pleased with that) But little did he know I had something SO much better than an ice cream cake.

So the Iphone is a red velvet cake and the sheet cake it’s laying on is vanilla, but the headphones are rice crispy treats (they’re much easier to mold!)

I would have to say this is my best cake yet! He loved it! Not only how it looked but how it tasted as well. It made the MANY hours I worked on the cake so so worth it!

So this was one of the EASIEST things I have ever made, want to know why?! Because the only thing I did was make homemade whipped cream! haha My family bought mini angel food cake and instead of the boring angel food cake with strawberries, I put chocolate chips and coconut in the middle then covered it with my homemade whipped cream and rolled them in coconut talk about delicious!

Homemade Whipped Cream

I used Alton Brown’s recipe for the whip cream (ITS AMAZING) here is the link…
